Terms of Use
Last updated 16 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-16
Clear responsibilities for using ScreenSignal and reviewing AI-assisted suggestions.
1. Operator and acceptance
These draft Terms apply to ScreenSignal’s Malaysia-first resume-review service. The operator is an individual, not an identified incorporated company. Their legal name, address and working contact must be completed before launch.
By selecting “Review this resume” or continuing with Google after seeing the linked notice, you agree to these Terms. The Privacy Notice explains personal-data processing separately; acceptance of these Terms is not consent to marketing or every use of sensitive data.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms to upload documents or use an account. ScreenSignal does not verify age through the ordinary workflow. Do not use another person’s account, share access tokens or upload a child’s resume.
Keep account access secure and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity you authorise, but these Terms do not make you automatically liable for every unauthorised event.
3. What the service does
ScreenSignal provides automated document extraction, AI-assisted resume feedback and optional editing and saved-work tools. Scores describe aspects of a document, not your worth, employability or a hiring outcome. Features may be experimental or temporarily unavailable.
Review extracted text and every suggestion before use. AI may omit facts, produce errors or suggest unsupported claims. There is no guarantee of interviews, employment, salary outcomes or acceptance by any applicant-tracking system. The service is not a recruiter or an employer and does not replace professional advice.
4. Your content and permission to process it
You retain your rights in the content you provide. You give the operator permission, limited to operating the features you request, to store, copy, extract, process and display it and to use necessary service providers for those purposes, subject to the Privacy Notice and applicable law. This is not an unrestricted licence to sell your resume or use it for unrelated training.
Only provide content you are entitled to share. Do not upload unnecessary sensitive data, identity documents or confidential information belonging to an employer or another person. You remain responsible for checking factual claims before using generated content. Rights in AI output may depend on applicable law and third-party rights; uniqueness or copyright protection is not guaranteed.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the service for unlawful purposes, impersonation, fabricated qualifications, harassment, malware, unauthorised access or interference with other users. Do not bypass security or usage limits or extract other people’s information. Lawful rights that cannot be restricted by contract remain unaffected.
6. Applications and third-party services
A resume review does not authorise submitting an application. A prepared or simulated application is not an employer submission. Review any destination, content and approval request before authorising a separate submission feature.
External services, sign-in providers and linked websites have their own terms and privacy practices. Their use does not remove the operator’s own responsibilities under applicable law.
7. Fees and changes to the service
These Terms do not authorise a payment, subscription or automatic renewal. Any future paid offer must disclose its price, limits, payment terms and applicable cancellation/refund rights before purchase. Statutory consumer rights are not waived.
Features may change. Material changes affecting existing commitments should be explained in advance where practicable; emergency security changes may take effect sooner.
8. Suspension and ending use
You may stop using the service at any time. Suspected misuse or security risks may require proportionate restrictions or suspension. Notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue should be provided where appropriate and lawful.
Stopping use or signing out does not itself erase saved data. Retention and deletion are addressed in the Privacy Notice. The operator must establish a working account/privacy request channel before public launch.
9. Responsibility and consumer rights
Use the service with reasonable care and keep a copy of your original document. No system is completely secure or uninterrupted, and AI output needs your review. These limitations do not excuse failure to meet obligations imposed by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, or any liability, consumer guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. No blanket “no refunds” rule, mandatory waiver of privacy rights or unlimited user indemnity is imposed. Liability and remedies otherwise depend on applicable law and the circumstances.
10. Malaysian law, disputes and updates
Malaysian law governs these Terms, subject to any mandatory protections that apply. Nothing prevents access to a court, consumer tribunal or regulator with jurisdiction. An exclusive foreign venue or compulsory private arbitration is not imposed.
Raise concerns with the operator once the verified contact is available. Material Terms changes should be notified before they apply, with renewed agreement where required. Changes do not retrospectively waive accrued rights. The version date above identifies this draft.
